After Five Hearts Under One Roof’s successful launch, Storytaco has plans for even more FMV games

Storytaco, Asia’s premier FMV studio, has a lot to celebrate. Following the global success of its FMV romance simulator Five Hearts Under One Roof, the studio recently launched Five Hearts Under One Roof 2 and plans on expanding its presence in the FMV games space even further.
Storytaco built its reputation with a multi-pronged approach to development. The team partners with film, drama, and YouTube professionals to blur the lines between video game and cinema production, and the results speak for themselves. Five Hearts Under One Roof has sold 300,000 copies on Steam, and more than 100,000 people pre-registered ahead of its Nov. 16, 2025, release date. Storytaco is thanking players with bonus content in this game, including an in-game photo book and soundtrack, and a sale event that sees the game discounted on Steam, where it already has a “very positive” review consensus.
Five Hearts Under One Roof casts you as Woo Yuman once again, a 20-something young man who spent most of his childhood by himself and now finds himself running a boarding house — where all the guests and even his boss are in danger of falling in love with him. It’s a first-person FMV game, which means you see everything from Yuman’s viewpoint, and it’s all brought to life in Storytaco’s signature high-quality, live-action scenes.
Throughout Five Hearts Under One Roof, you’ll navigate relationships with a mix of new residents and returning friends:
- Mal-Sook Go — One of Yuman’s few childhood friends, still a resident at the boarding house, but harboring a secret she’s reluctant to share with Yuman
- Gran Dong — Yuman’s strict and exacting boss who thinks of nothing but her job, and, increasingly often, Yuman
- Yu-na Jeong — A carefree heiress whose clumsiness and endless supply of energy often makes trouble for everyone around her
- Gyu-ri Bang — Patients adore this warmhearted and dedicated nurse, and she’s starting to adore Yuman, too
- Min-jung Park — Yuman’s first crush and a famous idol, though a brewing scandal threatens to bring her career down just as it’s reaching its peak
- Yoo-jung Yang — College is too daunting for this quiet, often-bullied young woman, but perhaps a friendship with Yuman can give her the confidence she needs
These relationships unfold during special dates, casual conversations, and a bevy of slice-of-life moments that give you unique insight into each character’s personality. The choices you have Yuman make during these moments determines how close he becomes to each heroine, but a happy outcome is never guaranteed. Each narrative branches into multiple endings depending on your choices, some romantic, others, well, not so much. It’s still worth pursuing every narrative thread to its end, though. Five Hearts Under One Roof distinguishes itself from other romance games by tucking hidden epilogues and video scenes behind decisions you might initially be tempted to ignore.
Following Five Hearts Under One Roof’s global success, Storytaco is looking to expand its portfolio to Japan, North America, and beyond, building a network of international partnerships to continue innovating in FMV video games.
