Gathering Oddities in Where Winds Meet is the only way to increase your Melodies of Peace level, and if that doesn’t mean anything to you yet, well, it’s time to fix that. Melodies of Peace is the name for a skill tree with nodes that, when unlocked, increase your stats like physical attack. It’ll take a lot of Oddities, but the good news – or bad news, if you don’t like tracking things down – is that there’s a lot of Oddities in Where Winds Meet. As in, dozens upon dozens.

Below, we explain where to find Oddities locations in Where Winds Meet and what to do with them once you do.

Where to find Oddities locations in Where Winds Meet

Oddities are… basically everywhere. In the early game, there’s a high chance you’ll run into them before even realizing what they are, and they’re easy to miss until you’re right up on them. Oddities are divided into five color-coded categories, and each has a glowing aura around them, and if you look at the mini-map, you’ll see the Oddity icon showing where it is nearby.

  • Dagger General (green grasshopper, find under rocks)
  • Enchanting Lotus (purple flower, defeat the purple butterflies nearby)
  • Ironwing Mantis (purple-grey mantis)
  • Redmist Beetle (red beetle)
  • Whisper Hive (brown beehive, use fire arrows to collect)

While some of them are just out in the open, like Whisper Hives and Enchanting Lotus blossoms, others – looking at you, Dagger Genera – require a bit of hunting (e.g., listening to sound cues and finding which rock the bug is hiding under). Our map of Oddities locations should help take some of the guesswork out of the task, though.

Keep our map of Oddities locations handy to track them all down. Where Winds Meet classes them as “Sentient Beings,” so if you want to get 100% completion in your journal for a given location, you’ll have to find every oddity.

What to do with Oddities

Once you start gathering Oddities, you’ll want to find a vendor to trade them with – specifically the Melodies of Peace vendors.
