Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Kamon Crest locations

To help document the warring clans of the Sengoku period, Yasuke is sent to collect 9 Kamon Crests from around Japan.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Yasuke is sent to search out 9 samurai Kamon Crests found throughout the open world.

These Kamon Crests are hidden in bunkers, towers and castles all across Japan, with many requiring Yasuke to move heavy boxes to reveal them.

Kamon are roughly equivalent to western family coats of arms , and can represent not just a clan status in feudal society, but their associations, businesses and values as well.

Many Kamon incorporate imagery from nature, such as flowers, the sun or waves for sea-faring or coastal nobles. While others utilize Buddhist religious imagery or even coins and money to indicate industry or prosperity.

While you receive this quest relatively early on in your adventure, many of the crests appear in late-game areas, although they’re all accessible pretty much as soon as you unlock the ability to play as Yasuke whenever you like.

Below we’ve embedded an interactive map showing the locations of all 9 Kamon Crests found throughout Assassin’s Creed Shadows :

Settsu Kamon Crests

• Oda Clan Crest - The first crest is found to the northwest of Osaka, in a burned out watchtower just outside the city walls by the waterside. Yasuke needs to burst down the door to the tower by sprinting into it.

Omi Kamon Crests

• Akechi Clan Crest - The only crest in Omi is found inside the tower of Sakamoto Castle on the western shore of Lake Biwa.

Harima Kamon Crests

• Bessho Clan Crest - The first crest in Harima is found inside the guard tower of Miki Castle, in the eastern part of the province.
• Hashiba Clan Crest - The second crest is found just to the north of the first, at Hiraiyama Fort and can only be collected by Yasuke because of the heavy boxes you need to move to access it.

Wakasa Kamon Crests

• Niwa Clan Crest - In the northern province of Wakasa, the first crest is found by the northern coast, inside a small hut near the inlet. Again, Yasuke is required to move heavy boxes.
• Shibata Clan Crest - The second crest is found to the east of the first, on the upper floor of the building behind a heavy box.

Yamato Kamon Crests

• Tsutsui Clan Crest - In the northwest of Yamato, you find the first crest on the lower floor of Koriyama castle behind a heavy box.
• Akiyama Clan Crest - Next, you find the second crest further to the east on the top flooor of the pagoda, again behind a heavy box only Yasuke can move.

Kii Kamon Crests

• Ikko Ikki Clan Crest - Finally, the last crest is found in the north of Kii, close to the border with Settsu, at Negoroji Kunren-ba. Behind a box in the guard tower, you find your last coat of arms.
