In FC 26, Inventive is the passing half of the old Trivela PlayStyle fused with the passing half of the old Flair PlayStyle, melded together to make a PlayStyle which allows players to make defence-splitting passes with the outside of the foot as well as pull off magical backheels, flicks and no-look passes.
Trivela and Flair were remixed into Game Changer and Inventive for a few reasons. First, and probably mostly, because Flair wasn’t very impactful in match scenarios and considered a wasted PlayStyle in most situations. But also because it stopped midfielders with Trivela suddenly having great shooting ability which didn’t fit their profile, and similarly strikers with Trivela suddenly being able to pull off great outside of the boot passes which outstripped their usual aptitude.
What does Inventive do in EA Sports FC 26?
Inventive is a passing-specific PlayStyle which lets players perform fancy passes (L2 + Pass) like backheels, through-the-leg flicks and no-look passes with greater speed, precision and accuracy. It also allows them to perform “trivela” passes, which are curved passes with the outside of the boot, with better speed and accuracy too.
Trivela passes are also performed with the same button input, but come out contextually, and work really nicely on through balls.
