Winger is easily one of the most exciting positions in FC 26, where rapid speed and technical dribbling are the biggest winners in a revamped meta that has made standing tackles less effective and shielding the ball a much bigger consideration.

What’s more, the EA Sports FC 26 tactics meta rewards players for flooding the middle of the pitch with bodies to open up more passing opportunities and create overloads. This makes the Inside Forward role for Wingers unbelievably effective in-game, which in turn means your Wingers are just as likely to appear in front of goal as your main striker. Therefore you need to pack your squad with wide players who’re not just athletically gifted, but cool enough in the box to provide a deadly finish when necessary.

It’s lucky for you then that there are tons of great wing options in FC 26, including many new names who might be less familiar to even returning stalwarts.

The world’s richest clubs with the biggest budgets can make some great signings which make a big difference on the wings immediately. Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone’s third son, Giuliano Simeone , is extremely good in-game, with enough speed, stamina and technical ability to meaningfully contribute to your attack for 90 minutes in every single match.

For even more speed, Karim Adeyemi has been a great Inside Forward pick-up for many years now , but in FC 26 retains his extreme pace (96 in both stats) and mixes it with great dribbling and finishing, particularly for someone with +5 points of Potential to still realise.

Elsewhere, Christos Tzolis has been linked with many top Premier League clubs over the summer and it’s easy to see why. 20 goals in all competitions for Club Brugge marks him as a hot prospect for the usual slew of stepping stone clubs looking to make a massive profit should he realise his 87 Potential. Luckily, he’s great in-game too, with a host of overpowered shooting PlayStyles making him the perfect Inside Forward.

Similar, but with a slightly more accessible price tag, is Diego Lopez from Valencia . Solid speed and agility are teamed with great dribbling and finishing (aided by the Low Driven PlayStyle) to make a player who fits the FC 26 meta really nicely.

It’s safe to say the word is out about Baris Yilmaz . His performance in the Champions League against Liverpool got a lot of people talking, but we’ve not seen a player with quite this crazy of a physical profile since the likes of Denis Zakaria and Renato Sanches a few years ago. Can you argue with 93 pace and 90 physical? Definitely not when it comes with the Low Driven Shot, Relentless, Bruiser, Rapid and Quick Step PlayStyles. It’s like someone put their Pro Clubs player in Career Mode.

The days of pace abuse with Gabriel Agbonlarhor, Alexander Esswein and Mohamed Tchite might be a distant memory, even for the “uncs” in the FC community, but it’s tough to resist recommending literally the fastest players in the game when it comes to signing widemen. Luckily though, they’re far from one-trick ponies too. Gabriel Silva at Santa Clara has 97 Sprint Speed, 95 Acceleration and Quick Step+ , but also 83 Potential with decent dribbling and finishing which makes him perfect for basically any team that can afford him, either for impact or as a starter.

Alternatively, Jean-Matteo Bahoya also has 97 Sprint Speed (which is tied with Mbappe for the fastest in the game, by the way) but with an even mightier 86 Potential and 78 dribbling. Elite athletic ability with enough potential to become elite technically before long too? What more could you ask for?

Well, you could ask for more PlayStyles, which is what Geny Catamo brings to the table. He has not just great speed, agility and dribbling, but Low Driven Shot too, which makes literally any player with the PlayStyle a deadly finisher.

That’s not to say players without that aren’t still good though. Assane Diao has 90 pace, 78 dribbling and 79 finishing with the Finesse Shot PlayStyle to bring a touch of class to the Inside Forward role at a more accessible price.

But for lower league teams with more limited budgets, you can still get some really good wingers with exceptional stats and Potential for a relatively modest investment. The only issue is that they tend to have poorer stamina than the very best talents. For example, Julien Duranville from Dortmund has amazing pace and agility with a mighty 87 dribbling , which is unbelievable on just a 72 Overall. However, he only has 55 stamina, which makes him stronger as an impact player. Although he does have +15 Potential growth to add to that quickly.

Como’s Jayden Addai and RB Leipzig’s Tidiam Gomis are a similar story, just with less crazy stats, but they’re also half the price too.

Finally, for a really small fee you can get Justin Lerma , the latest talent from Ecuador after Kendry Paez was snapped up by Chelsea in the summer. He’s really usable from the start and has great stamina and speed for a 17 year old, with a massive +21 Potential growth to get better in front of goal.
