Update: We have updated this guide with details about the current rotation of new Everdark Sovereign bosses, and added a guide on how to beat Everdark Sovereign Tricephalos.
Elden Ring Nightreign has always been destined to be a live-service game, but fans have been left to wonder exactly what about it is going to be live-service. With no microtransactions or battle passes to try and avoid, and the promise of new content on the horizon, many of us have been quietly anticipating new bosses and characters.
Well, the first major content update to Nightreign has arrived, introducing enhanced bosses – also known as Everdark Sovereigns – which amp up the Nightlords’ arsenal of attacks even further and come with unique rewards.
To help you get to grips with this additional content, here’s everything you need to know about enhanced bosses in Elden Ring Nightreign .
Elden Ring Nightreign enhanced bosses explained
Elden Ring Nightreign’s enhanced bosses are part of a new Everdark Sovereign mode added to the game. These enhancements are exclusive to the Nightlords, and initially, only one enhanced Everdark Sovereign boss was available to fight each week before being swapped with another enhanced Nightlord.
Now that multiple enhanced Nightlords have been introduced to the game, Nightreign has two Everdark bosses available to fight each week, before eventually swapping them out for other Everdark bosses.
So far, players have received Everdark versions of all bosses bar the Night Aspect. That’s Gaping Jaws , Sentient Pest , Darkdrift Knight , Augur , Fissure in the Fog , Equilibrious Beast , and Tricephalos .
Whether or not we’ll get an Everdark version of final boss, Night Aspect, remains unknown at the time of writing.
For help with any of the existing Everdark Sovereign fight, here are our boss guides:

- Everdark Sovereign Augur boss guide

- Everdark Sovereign Tricephalos boss guide
To access an Everdark Sovereign fight, you must first make sure you have successfully defeated the original version of that Nightlord . Once that’s done, you’ll find the enhanced Nightlord at the bottom of your Expedition list in the match-making menu (shown below).

You can then match-make for this boss as you usually would, and your Expedition will go down the same as usual. Once it’s time to face the Nightlord, however, you can expect a refreshed fight with the boss featuring new moves and, well, a lot more difficulty.
Once you manage to defeat an Everdark Sovereign Nightlord, you’ll be rewarded with a new currency called Sovereign Sigils .

You can then use these at a new ‘Collector Signboard’ area that is accessible from the list of locations shown alongside your map, and spend them on triggering Shifting Earth events , such as the Crater or the Shrouded City . Alternatively, use them to purchase skins for your Nightfarers instead of spending your hard-earned Murk on them.
Here’s a full list of what your Sovereign Sigils can be traded for:
- New Urns and Chalices for each Nightfarer
- New Relics with predetermined, fixed traits
- Shifting Earth events: Sigils can be spent on triggering these events as and when you want to experience them.
- Skins: these are preexisting skins, which you can now choose to buy with Sigils or continue to buy with Murk.
You can also use the Collector Signboard to transform the ‘Great Site of Grace’, which is the Grace in the center of the Hold. This allows you to return it to the much brighter state that it was in before you unlocked the final boss, the Night Aspect , and vice versa.
Your first defeat of an Everdark Sovereign Nightlord will reward 25 Sovereign Sigils. The reward is reduced to just five Sigils for any successful attempts after that!
