Don’t get spiked when you add these Prickly Plants to an event in Grow a Garden!

Every rose has its thorns, but not every plant has its prickles in Grow a Garden.

However, sometimes a new event NPC will ask you to brave the spikes and thorns to bring him some Prickly Plants to help a giant plant grow into the clouds in the middle of your server. Once you’ve added your plants to the central repository, you’ll be able to visit the Event Shop and purchase some unique rewards like Seeds and Pets .

Some plants have spines and prickles either to stop animals from eating their precious leaves, protect the pollinators feeding on their flowers by stopping birds from landing on them, or to help their preferred kind of creature disperse their seeds.

But it’s not always clear which of your crops fit this bill in Grow a Garden. To participate in the event, you’ll need to contribute at least 7 times to the growth of the tree, which can be difficult if you’re not even sure what to add. Here’s everything we’ve found that counts as a Prickly Plant in Grow a Garden , so you can sprout a huge tree in no time!

In some ways, Prickly Plants are the easiest to pin down, because Prickle Fruits and Prickly Pear obviously fit into this category. However, these are both event-limited crops and there are so few other options to choose from, it’s also one of the most difficult Plant Types to contend with.

Especially for relatively new players, your best bets are to feed the NPC with Cacti or Dragon Fruit if you’ve got them in your farm because you can just buy those from the Seed Shop.

Otherwise you’ll need to rely on trading to get those event plants from other players.
