Honkai Star Rail Jingliu build and teams
Thin ice

July 1, 2025: We’ve updated our HSR Jingliu build in light of the version 3.4 rework.
The best Honkai: Star Rail Jingliu build bumps up the icy Destruction warrior’s critical hit potential massively compared to Jingliu’s original version, though she demands a lot of support to reach damage output levels that other, more recent characters can hit with less maintenance. Jingliu’s new kit is all about HP scaling and stacking as much crit damage as you can, which opens some new Relic options and gives her a specific Ornament set to work with.
Our Honkai Star Rail Jingliu build breaks down her best Light Cone and Relics, along with some Jingliu team recommendations.

Jingliu’s 3.4 rework explained
Jingliu’s 3.4 rework replaces attack scaling for her skill and ultimate with HP scaling, but the more important change is how her talent works. New Jingliu obtains a Moonlight stack every time an ally receives damage or has their HP consumes, and she can hold five stacks. Each Moonlight stack increases her crit damage by 22/44 percent for a total of 220 percent extra crit damage. Moonlight stacks remain active until she exists her burst state. Jingliu also gains one Syzygy stack when allies take damage 20 times, with the idea being that she can enter her burst mode more often.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Light Cone

I Shall Be My Own Sword , Jingliu’s signature Light Cone, is still her best choice, since its bonuses have nothing to do with attack. It increases the wearer’s critical damage by a substantial amount – 20 percent at the base level – and it has several bonus effects when the user’s HP drops. When they lose HP from a skill or from enemy attacks, they gain one Eclipse stack and can carry three stacks total. Each increases the wearer’s attack by 14 percent, and once they hit three stacks, their next attack ignores at least 12 percent of the enemy’s defense.
Blade’s signature, The Unreachable Side, also works well for Jingliu now. Crit rate isn’t important for her, but the increase in max HP and flat damage - along with the fact that the Light Cone is available for purchase using memory shards earned in the battle pass - make it a strong, easier-to-obtain option.
On the Fall of an Aeon is no longer a good choice, since Jingliu doesn’t need a high attack stat and won’t be breaking enemies enough to get the damage boost this Light Cone offers from that. The 4-star Ninja Record: Sound Hunt is worth using, though. It raises the wearer’s crit damage by 18/36 percent for two turns when they consume or restore their HP, and it increases their max HP by 12/24 percent.
Another 4-star, Trail of Bygone Blood , has some useful benefits for Jingliu as well. It increases the wearer’s crit rate by 12/20 percent and increases damage from their skill and ultimate by 24/40 percent.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Relics

Jingliu’s 3.4 rework means she needs crit damage and HP, so you’ve got a few options here. One is the old Hunter of Glacial Forest set.
- Two-piece effect: Increases ice damage by 10 percent
- Four-piece effect: Increases critical damage by 25 percent after the wearer uses their ultimate
Another option is mixing two pieces of Longevous Disciple (increases max HP by 12 percent) with two pieces of Wavestrider Captain, the latter of which gives you a 16 percent crit damage boost.
There’s also Scholar Lost in Erudition, which is HoYoverse’s in-game recommendation.
- Two-piece effect: Increases crit rate by eight percent
- Four-piece effect: Increases skill and ultimate damage by 20 percent. When the wearer uses their ultimate, their next skill deals 25 percent more damage.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu Ornaments
Jingliu has two Ornament options now. One of them is Bone Collector’s Serene Demesne, which raises the wearer’s HP by 12 percent and, once their HP is over 5,000, gives them a 28 percent crit damage buff. You can also stick with Rutilant Arena, which raises the wearer’s crit rate by 12 percent and then gives them a 20 percent skill and basic attack damage buff when their crit rate is over 70 percent. The way Jingliu’s burst state works means that she’ll always be able to activate that secondary effect.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu stats
Jingliu’s new focus means you need to stack HP and crit damage as much as possible. In our testing, Jingliu was at her best when her crit damage was between 450-550 percent in combat, including five Moonlight stacks and buffs from the Remembrance Trailblazer. Her HP should be over 5,000 to make use of the Ornament set, but 6,000 or higher is ideal.
- Body: crit damage
- Feet: Speed or HP
- Sphere: Ice damage, attack
- Rope: HP or energy regeneration
Speed, crit damage, and HP are your best substats.
Honkai Star Rail Jingliu teams

Jingliu is a hypercarry, which means she needs other characters to help her reach her full potential. Now that her kit prioritizes crit damage more than before, you want one of these as her primary support:
- Sunday
- Bronya
- Sparkle
The crit damage buff is very helpful, and letting Jingliu act more frequently means she can enter her burst stat faster. Just make sure your support acts after Jingliu and not before.
Hyacine is a useful healer for Jingliu, since her After Rain state increases the party’s max HP and her constant healing makes up for Jingliu’s HP absorption. Other choices include:
- Lingsha
- Huohuo
- Gallagher
- Luocha
What tier is Jingliu in Honkai Star Rail?
Jingliu’s 3.4 rework makes her more viable for sure, but she requires a lot of stat investment, needs her signature Light Cone and specific support characters, and still won’t match damage numbers for someone like Phainon or even The Herta and Aglaea. At this point, it’s just not worth using your tickets.
