The best stats, Light Cones, and Relics for Luocha

The best Honkai Star Rail Luocha build looks a bit different from your average healer build, as he’s the only healer in HSR who’s designed around attack instead of normal healing things. While Luocha fell out of fashion as other, flashier healers turned up on the scene, he’s suddenly become much more useful - and temporarily free, in HSR 3.2 - thanks to two characters who need as much healing as they can get.

Our Honkai Star Rail Luocha build breaks down his best Light Cones and Relics, with some Luocha team recommendations as well.

Honkai Star Raul Luocha Light Cones

HSR updates have come and gone, but Luocha still remains the only Certified Harmacist, the only healer whose skills scale with attack and not HP or some other stat. That means his Light Cone options are still limited compared to other healers. However, you can stack attack stats on his relics with comparative ease, so if you don’t have or want Echoes of the Coffin , you can just think laterally instead.

If you do want his signature Echoes of the Coffin , it’s definitely the easiest choice for him. It raises the wearer’s attack by 24 percent and restores 3 energy for every enemy they hit with an attack. After the wearer uses their ultimate, all allies get 12 more speed for one turn.

Huohuo’s Light Cone, Night of Fright , increases energy regeneration by 12 percent, lets the wearer heal the ally with the lowest HP by 10 percent of that ally’s max HP when the wearer uses their ultimate, and buffs healed allies’ attack. Luocha’s ultimate doesn’t heal, but it does remove enemy buffs and target every foe on screen, while charging his healing field as well. It’s a good idea to pop it off frequently.

Shared Feeling is a solid 4-star option, as it boosts the wearer’s outgoing healing by 10 percent and restores two energy for allies when the wearer uses their skill. Post-Op Conversation also gives Luocha a much-needed eight percent energy regeneration buff, which is helpful, even if its second part, about increasing the ultimate’s healing, doesn’t apply to him.

Perfect Timing often comes up as a recommended Light Cone for Luocha. It increases the wearer’s outgoing healing based on their effect resistance, but since Luocha has no effect resistance built into his kit, you’re going to rely on lucky substat rolls for your Relics to get what he needs. It’s just not worth it.

Cornucopia is a strong 3-star option, as it raises the wearer’s outgoing healing by 12/24 percent when they use their skill – Luocha’s skill heals – or ultimate.

Luocha wants attack and outgoing healing more than anything, though speed is also useful. No 4-piece set has a bonus that suits him, so your best bet is mixing two pieces of something that raises attack with two pieces of something that either raises speed or outgoing healing.

Attack two-piece sets:

  • Musketeer of Wild Wheat
  • Prisoner in Deep Confinement

Outgoing healing two-piece sets

  • Passerby of Wandering Cloud

Speed two-piece sets

  • Sacerdos’ Lived Ordeal
  • Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

If you’re using Perfect Timing, then you almost have to give Luocha the Broken Keel set, which raises effect resistance by eight percent and, when the stat reaches 30 percent, gives all allies a 10 percent crit damage buff. Penacony, Land of the Dreams is a useful set if you’re running Luocha with Mydei. It raises the wearer’s energy regeneration by five percent and gives other allies who have the same damage type (imaginary) a 10 percent damage boost.

Other useful sets are:

  • Lushaka – energy regen and a party-wide attack buff (except for the wearer)
  • Space Sealing Station – 12 percent attack buff and a further 12 percent buff when speed is 120 or higher

Since Luocha’s healing scales on attack, that stat should be your main focus, along with outgoing healing and, to a lesser extent, speed. Luocha can heal a large chunk of HP with 2,500 attack. However, if you’re pairing him with Castorice or Mydei, both of whom need to have much higher HP, and want to keep them above 50 percent HP, 3,000 attack is a good spot to aim for. The endgame speed point of 130 is usually recommended for Luocha, though you can get by with 120 as well, especially if you need attack on his boots instead of speed.

  • Body: Outgoing healing
  • Feet: Attack percent or speed
  • Orb: Attack percent
  • Rope: Attack percent or energy regeneration

Honkai Star Rail Luocha teams

Given how frequently Luocha heals, he’s at his most useful on teams with HP-needy characters, such as Blade , Mydei , and Castorice . The general composition for all three is much the same, regardless of who the DPS is.

  • Luocha
  • Blade, Castorice, or Mydei
  • Remembrance Trailblazer , Ruan Mei , Sparkle , Tribbie , Sunday , or other damage amplifier
  • Second amplifier

However, since his ultimate hits all enemies and he’s mostly SP-positive, Luocha also makes a good choice for The Herta teams. The Herta regains energy when allies attack, and she always needs SP.

  • The Herta
  • Second Erudition character, such as Small Herta or Himeko
  • Luocha
  • Amplifier, such as Remembrance Trailblazer

That said, Luocha can function perfectly in any team setup where you need a sustain unit.

What tier is Luocha in Honkai Star Rail?

Luocha goes in the A category of our HSR tier list, thanks to his exceptionally useful healing abilities – though not quite as exceptional as others. He lets the team heal themselves while his field is active, but that’s the catch. His healing uptime takes a nosedive when the field isn’t active, and it requires two uses of his skill, panic heal, or ultimate to activate again. Meanwhile, Lingsha heals regularly herself and with her pet, and Huohuo just needs to re-apply her skill once every two turns to make sure everyone gets debuffed and healed. He’s certainly useful, especially if you get him for free, but it’ll require some careful management to get the most out of his kit.
