Remember when the PlayStation Portal was impossible to find unless you were refreshing checkout pages like you were trying to snag Glastonbury tickets? Good news, it’s not only in stock now, but also seeing its first proper discount for Prime Day .

If you somehow missed the memo, the Portal is a PS5 streaming handheld – it doesn’t play games natively, it just lets you Remote Play from your PS5, or stream from the cloud if you’re feeling fancy. That means no downloads, no PS5-in-your-pocket fantasy – just a WiFi-dependent tether to your living room hardware.

It’s got an 8-inch LCD display (no OLED dreams here), and essentially chops a DualSense in half and glues it to each side. The result? It feels good in the hands, plays like a regular controller, and looks like something you’d get if Sony had to speedrun a handheld launch.

Just make sure your internet isn’t rubbish – Sony says you’ll need at least 5 Mbps to make it work, but realistically you’ll want something faster if you don’t want to be staring at pixelated regret every time you boot up Helldivers 2 in bed.
