Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest returned for another year, now running uncontested after the death of E3 2023 . Before all the other major showcases, Keighley took to the stage to bring us new game announcements, gameplay reveals, updates on previously announced games, and a few surprises (although not many).

It’s tradition at this point for the Summer Game Fest live show to headline the rest of the publisher-led summer showcases, but you games from those same publishers did show up here as well. We had Spider-Man 2 from PlayStation, some neat Street Fighter and Exoprimal crossover from Capcom, and Ubisoft even debuted a new Prince of Persia game.

Mortal Kombat 1 ’s gameplay debut looked just as expected, Alan Wake 2 gameplay was pretty spooky, Modern Warfare 2/Warzone Season Four and the new Fortnite Wilds season looked decent, and Immortals of Aveum gameplay again looked good but maybe not as captivating as EA would hope. Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to impress and the trailer for Netflix’s The Witcher show suggests Season 3 is going to be a good one.
