Heartopia celebrated its global launch in January, so it’s only appropriate that its first round of seasonal content is quite literally themed around the seasons – Winter Frost, to be exact. Running from January 31st to March 13th , this six-week seasonal programme features a line-up of various sub-events, including opportunities to add limited-time variations to your various hobby collections.

The game’s extensive insect collection is no exception, with five species of Frostspore Butterflies appearing on the island as the locals work to offset the effects of the seasonal cold snap.

Where to find Frostspore Butterflies in Heartopia

Frostspore Butterflies appear exclusively in the Forest region of Heartopia’s map . They can be quite easily identified visually: they all appear as “crystal” butterflies (ice-covered in-story), with each species a different colour.

They appear just like normal flying insects in their designated regions of the Forest, and can be caught using the bubble net just like ordinary bugs. They don’t have any special spawn conditions (like weather, time of day, or bug catching level) beyond their map area spawns, and none require an Inflatable Bug Catcher even if their ordinary version does.

There are five Frostspore Butterflies available during the Winter Frost season:

  • Frostspore Mother-of-Pearl is pink in colour and can be found in the Jump Puzzle area of the Forest.
  • Frostspore Purple Spotted Swallowtail is purple in colour and can be found in the Spirit-Oak Pine Forest area of the Forest.
  • Frostspore Queen Alexandra’s Birdwing is green in colour and can be found in the Deer Tower area of the Forest.
  • Frostspore Sulkowsky’s Morpho is blue in colour and can be found in the Deer Tower area of the Forest.
  • The fifth Frostspore Butterfly will be available from Week 3 of the Winter Frost Season, beginning on February 14th!
