WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers features a lot of different mechanics and systems to get used to. It can be overwhelming initially, but once you slowly wrap up Chapter 1, you’ll hopefully begin to find yourself getting accustomed to things. Something you may run into and not be so certain of are Benediction Gates , also known as Riddle Gates .

Benediction Gates are grand doors that, in most instances (but not all), will task you with answering a cryptic question before opening. Guess the answer correctly and you will receive a reward. If you get it wrong, however, punishments range from receiving no reward at all, to being thrown into a boss fight. Fun! To help you avoid any particularly troublesome situations, here are all Riddle Gate solutions in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers .

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Benediction Gate solutions

Below, we’ve detailed all known Benediction Gates and what each response provides you with in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers.

That said, this page is currently limited to Riddle Gates found in Chapter 1 (Shu Sanctum) and Chapter 2 (Cloudspire) of the game, as to avoid any mid-to-late-game spoilers. Here’s your spoiler warning for early-game locations and boss names, however.

Benediction Gate #1: Tang Emperor Palace

The first Benediction Gate you will likely run into is found in Tang Emperor Palace in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, and is closest to the Palace Hill Shrine.

From the Shrine (and facing away from it), take a left onto the rooftop. Go down the ladder and head right, past the red building on your right. The Benediction Gate is straight ahead of you, at the bottom of some stairs, and upon interacting with it, you must choose between ‘The winged ascension’ or ‘Feathered Transcendence’ and there’s no option to back out.

Here’s what each option does:

  • The winged ascension: The door opens, and you can retrieve Benediction Sheng - Lasting Alacrity.
  • Feathered Transcendance: This throws you into a fight against a Tang Palace Maid (unless you have already beaten her), and you cannot claim the above Benediction.

Benediction Gate #2: Hillswatch

After having battled it out with Commander Honglan , you’ll wake up at the Reverent Temple with the Reverent Temple Key. Use this key on the western door in the temple’s courtyard, and you’ll begin your journey into Cloudspire.

As you do, you’ll first reach a stone bridge with a crying servant and the Hillswatch Shrine, and there’ll be a Benediction Gate to your right, before the bridge. This time, you must choose between ‘Challenge the threads of fate’ or ‘Follow the course of destiny’ , which provide the following:

  • Challenge the threads of fate: The door will open and you can go inside to retrieve some Kong Wine and the Bridal Armor set.
  • Follow the course of destiny: Teleports you to Mort Grotto in Cloudspire.

Benediction Gate #3: Cloudspire Outskirts

When you eventually reach the Cloudspire Outskirts Shrine in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, the next Benediction Gate is very close by. If you go through the wooden gate to the right of the Shrine, the Benediction Gate is immediately on your left.

If you have not yet unlocked the wooden gate here, you’ve a little more work cut out for you. You’ll need to go back on yourself – in the opposite direction to the Shrine – and right, up a small hill. In this next area, there’ll be an archer to be wary of, but also a small charred hut with a ladder inside on your left.

Go up here and straight ahead, and keep right until you go through a wooden gate. Keep right again, going past the dog enemy, and then take a left into an area full of tents and cannons (pictured below).

If you head past the cannons and keep right again, you’ll eventually come to the opposite side of the wooden gate from earlier and now be able to open it. The Benediction Gate is also conveniently to the right of the wooden gate here.

Once you reach the Benediction Gate, you don’t actually have a choice to make this time around! The gate will automatically open, and you’ll be able to go inside to acquire Benediction Sheng - Lethal Might .

The next few Benediction Gate locations and solutions were put together using IGN’s Benediction Gates guide and YouTuber Concon .

Benediction Gate #4: Zhenwu Antechamber

The next Benediction Gate can be accessed following the fight against South General Liu Wenxiu in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. In the Mount Zhenwu area, there’s an invisible bridge – accessible only after the boss – that you can carefully cross to reach the Benediction Gate for this area.

This gate does not have any sort of riddle for you to respond to, and you can waltz right in to retrieve Benediction Shan - Blight Ward . There’ll also be a Forgotten Remembrance at the end of the path here.

Benediction Gate #5: Worship’s Rise in Ruins

Once you eventually reach Worship’s Rise in Ruins in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, leave Annalum and head to Shu Sanctum. On the second floor, there’ll be a broken door acting as a bridge that you can cross. Go up the hill ahead, and then down the wooden platforms to your right.

At the bottom of the platforms, head left and through a very different-looking Tang Emperor Palace to reach the Benediction Gate for this area. There is no riddle to answer for this gate, and you’ll be given the Benediction Fa - Corruptive Feathers .

Benediction Gate #6

Bo Capital is home to the four remaining Benediction Gates in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers.

The first Benediction Gate here is accessible from the Depths of the Capital Shrine. Head left from the Shrine into a room that has a strange glowing statue that functions as a lever, interact with the lever, and then go through the gate on your left (which this lever will have conveniently opened). After this, take a right immediately and you’ll find yourself approaching the Benediction Gate.

There is no riddle to answer here, and you will receive the Benediction Wei - Blood Force upon activating the gate.

Benediction Gate #7

The next Benediction Gate in Bo Capital is also accessible from the Depths of the Capital Shrine. Head left from the Shrine into the large room with the lever statue again, and then head right of the statue. Ride the elevator here upwards, and take a left at the top, where you’ll come to a red bridge you can go up.

If the door to the right of the statue is closed, you may need to interact with the statue again.

After the bridge, turn right, interact with the statue here, then go along the bridge and head left. There’ll be three mounds here that you can destroy; behind the rightmost one is an invisible bridge you can cross. Turn right after the bridge, and you’ll enter a room containing the Benediction Gate. Activate the gate to be rewarded with the Benediction Bu - Combo Ward .

Benediction Gate #8

The next Benediction Gate for this particular area is also closest to the Depths of the Capital Shrine, unless you happened to have explored the entire area already, in which case, you can access it from the Capital Entrance Shrine.

From the Capital Entrance, turn around, and just ahead of you – slightly to the left – is a path you can go down. Down the path, keep right, and you’ll soon come to a glowing lever statue that has an elevator just beside it. Go down the elevator and press ahead, past the enemies, until you see a golden staircase on your left.

Go up the staircase and right, where you’ll come to another lever statue. Activate it if you haven’t already, and then jump down the rocky path to the left of the statue. At the bottom of the rocky path, keep right, and the Benediction Gate is along the wall here. Activate it to receive the Benediction Shi - Blood Ward .

Benediction Gate #9

From the Depths of the Capital Shrine, go left into the large room from earlier, and take the elevator that is to the right of the lever statue (we’ll have used this elevator to access Benediction Gate #7).

Atop the elevator, head right along the red bridge. When you come to the staircase, ignore it and take the path on your right instead. Once you come to the small, red bridge – where you’ll be able to see a lower level with enemies – jump off the bridge. Follow the path ahead to find a lever statue; interact with it.

Now, turn to face away from the statue and take a right, eventually heading up some stairs. Once up the stairs, keep left, and you’ll find you’ve looped round to the red bridge above the lever we just activated. Cross the bridge and continue ahead; the lever will have turned what was previously a dead end into a bridge we can now cross.

Across the bridge, take a right in the next room, where you’ll find both Panda and the final Benediction Gate. Activate the gate to be rewarded with the Benediction Sheng - Skyborn Rejuvenation , as well as the Discerning Eye Achievement if you’ve activated all Benediction Gates up until this point.
