WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is a challenging soulslike set in the scenic land of Shu during the late Ming Dynasty, with a mysterious plague of sorts threatening all of its people. This disease, coined The Feathering, sees folk growing feathers and turning into monstrous beings as it consumes them. Our afflicted protagonist, Wuchang, seeks to find answers and put a stop to the terrifying sickness.

As a result, you find yourself exploring this beautiful landscape packed with threats, with a dozen tools at your fingertips to enhance Wuchang’s arsenal of gear and settle on a fun but versatile playstyle that works for you. WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers walkthrough

Here’s what you need to do – step by step – to progress through the story in WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. We’ve left some instructions intentionally vague here as to encourage you to explore the picturesque land of Shu for yourself (and because much of WUCHANG is linear), but here are the areas you’ll need to visit, items you’ll need to find, and bosses you’ll need to defeat.

WUCHANG Walkthrough Chapter 1 - Worship’s Rise

1. Go to Reverent Temple and speak to the Boatman, then fight Bai Kru . You do not need to beat them.
2. Go to Lightzen Temple , defeat the Master Raider, Man-eating Dhutanga to receive the Lightzen Key.
3. Use the Lightzen Key on the wooden door adjacent to the Lightzen Temple Shrine and make your way to Shu Sanctum .
4. Explore the villages beside Shu Sanctum, and defeat the Gluttonous Monstrosity.
5. Defeat the Feathered Priest in the Shu Sanctum to retrieve the Shu Sanctum Key .
6. Use the Shu Sanctum Key and descend through the mines to reach the Bandit’s Cave .
7. Defeat the Blightweaver and enter Doomwillow Beach.
8. Defeat the Reborn Treant in Doomwillow Beach.
9. Go to Tang Emperor Palace .
10. [Optional] Defeat the Tang Palace Maid
11. Retrieve the Buddha Statue and place it near the Plain Warrioress in Tang Emperor Palace.
12. Defeat Commander Honglan in the now-drained Tang Emperor Palace courtyard.
13. Use the Reverent Temple Key to open the gate in the Reverent Temple Courtyard, and advance into Cloudspire.

WUCHANG Walkthrough Chapter 2 - Cloudspire

1. Advance into the Rebel Camp in Cloudspire, and kill the guard by the Rebel Camp Shrine to get the Rebel Camp Key .
2. Use the Rebel Camp Key to unlock the door to General of the North, Al Nengqi ’s arena and defeat him.
3. From Cloudspire Outskirts, cross the bridge into Snowpeak Pass and defeat Ming General, Liu Cheng’en .
4. Progress into Snowfall Palace and defeat Mistress of the Night, Huang Yan .
5. Advance into the Shaft , defeat Perfect Bride, Fang Ling , and receive the Jade Ancient Chisel .
6. Speak to the Storyteller beside the Shrine in Fang Ling’s boss room to be teleported to Hillswatch Cave.

The rest of this walkthrough has been put together using a mixture of footage from Gamer’s Little Playground’s sub-14 hour playthrough and Shirrako’s playthrough of the game.

WUCHANG Walkthrough Chapter 3 - Mount Zhenwu

1. Advance through Hillswatch Cave and into Mount Zhenwu, then defeat the Bo Sorcerer in the Avian Dwelling. After the fight, investigate the nearby Tomb area before progressing.
2. Enter the Zhenwu Temple and defeat South General Liu Wenxiu to receive the Zhenwu Temple Key .
3. Advance further through the temple area and defeat the Fierce Tiger and Sovereign to receive the Aurum Ancient Chisel.
4. Enter the new area that has now been opened and speak to the Storyteller , but do not go with him unless you have wrapped up anything else you want to do, including any ongoing side quests.
5. [Optional] Go past the Storyteller to reach Ferry Overlook, and interact with one of the boats to go to Bai Mansion .
6. [Optional] In Bai Mansion, defeat Monstrous Toddler Bai Kru .
7. Finish wrapping up your side quests, and you can then return to the Storyteller and select ‘Continue forward’ when speaking to him to be teleported to Worship’s Rise in Ruins . You’ll arrive at a very different version of Annalum.

WUCHANG Walkthrough Chapter 4 - Worship’s Rise in Ruins

1. Make your way to Gluttonous Monstrosity Lu Hongliu’s arena from earlier (this is beside Shu Sanctum, accessible from the tree shortcut on the second level of the building), where you will now need to defeat the Nightmare Demon.
2. Advance towards what was formerly Tang Emperor Palace, where you will fight with and need to defeat Vermillion Feathers .
3. Go through the riddle gate in the arena to reach Bandit’s Cave again, although things look very different this time around. Here, you need to defeat Bo Magus in what was previously the Blightweaver’s arena.
4. Teleport to and explore Reverent Temple, then head to the Burning Cave (by exiting via the top floor of the temple) and speak to Xuanyangzi . He asks for the Jade Feather Chisel. It’s up to you what you do here, but note that your decision here will affect which ending you receive (you can check out our endings guide below if you’re unsure of what to do here).
5. Progress through the Burning Cave and defeat The Reborn and the Dragon Emperor to receive the Vermillion Ancient Chisel .

WUCHANG Walkthrough Chapter 5 - Bo Capital

1. After defeating the Dragon Emperor, you will wake up in Bo Capital . You have two options : 1) continue through the Capital and conclude the game or 2) go and defeat an optional boss back in Mount Zhenwu before returning (it’s worth noting that whether or not you defeat this optional boss can also impact your ending ). If you wish to do the latter, you must have completed the White-Robed Elder’s side quest.
2. [Optional] Travel to the Tomb in the Avian Dwelling and defeat optional boss Eternal Glory .
3. [Optional] Progress through Bo Capital to eventually come to a riddle gate. If you want to see every boss in the game, we recommend picking ‘Wheel turns anew’ . In the following area, you can then defeat the Demon of Obsession . Selecting ’the grand dream fades’ allows you to explore the new area, but the Demon of Obsession will not appear.
4. Return to and continue advancing through Bo Capital, and you will eventually reach the Final Boss . Enjoy!
